Saddle Mountain Ranch offers horse boarding at one of the most convenient locations near Steamboat Springs. This historic ranch is just 7 miles west of Steamboat at the Highway 40 and County Road 44 intersection. Even in the winter, you can be riding your horse in the indoor arena within minutes of hitting the well maintained Highway 40.
Reasonable rates are offered for full care stall boarding or pasture boarding with run-in protection. Boarders have access to the indoor riding arena. Saddle Mountain Ranch offers an uncrowded and uncomplicated alternative for you horse boarding and riding needs.
Stall Boarding includes day turn outs with plenty of room for exercise. Under the most extreme conditions stall boarded horses still have time in the indoor arena to stretch out and exercise. Meeting the owner’s blanketing requirements is part of the stall boarding contract.
Rates
Winter 2010-2011 Rates are as follows:
- Stall Boarding: $500 per month
- Pasture Boarding: $ 300 per month
- A 10% discount is offered for 6 month or longer contracts
- An additional 10% is offered for 3 or more horses

The Indoor Arena
A 96′X150′ metal arena barn with a railed 75′X150′ indoor arena designed for training and a 20′X40′ meter dressage
Three Outdoor Arenas
A 150′X300′ outdoor arena with PA system and viewing areas
80′X150′ oval sand training area
Round Pen
Lounge Area
The heated lounge is equipped with sofas, bathroom and flat screen schooling TV for video use.
Trail Riding
There are a variety of trails available including creek crossings and ridgeline views .
Stall Boarding
We have three barns available for stall boarding
Indoor
Includes a grooming bay, locker tack room, 8 stalls and a feed room
Show Barn
A M&D metal barn with 6 stalls, hot water wash rack, feed room, 2 tack rooms, and a medicine room
The Red Barn
A 5 stall wood barn with breezeway, with a double foaling stall, 2 tack rooms.
Pasture Boarding
Pasture Boarding has a gelding and mare fields with run in shelters.
